Off to CHA

Well I'm freezing some waters, packing some snacks and donning my comfy shoes because I'm off to CHA for the first time! Wish I had a buddy to go with me, but I guess better alone than not at all - lol.

Here's hoping for a great day - you have one too!

Sneak Peek #2 at Sara's Shabby Pink Baby Girl Mini Album

Okay, here is sneak peek #2!  I know this looks like the cover, but alas, it's just page 1 . . . so, even though I made  my hinges with 1/4 inch between the pages, this album is still going to be too thick to lay nicely without popping open (good thing I have a door knob closure all ready to go!).

On this page I used the Tim Holtz butterfly Sizzix die and in a departure from my norm, I went with soft and pretty instead of inky and grungy.  Of course after painting it, glittering it and adding one feather on each side, it still wasn't enough so then I added the ostrich feather boa pieces to finish it off.  On on the body of the butterfly I simply added stickpin made with beads and bead caps I had in my stash.  The butterfly is anchored to a scrap piece of the patterned paper which I used to make a pocket for the large green patterned paper tag.  The small butterflies on the tag are just pieces I "fussy cut" from the paper collection.

Let me know what you think,
Wendy

Baby Girl Mini Album for Sara

I'm finally working on finishing a baby girl album for my friend Sara (first grand baby). Here is a sneak peek at one of the "tags" which opens and has a Velcro closure at the bottom. Isn't the little ruffle bottom cute?! I used the Sizzix onsie die for this. I cut two single sided sheets at the same time and adhered them wrong sides together to give it more strength. I will post the finished project soon. Have a great day!

The Ladies at Timeless Treasures

I had a great night at Preview Night last night! This is in large part due to the fab group of ladies who work and teach classes at TT. They have been so welcoming and helpful to the "new girl." It's always so stressful when you feel like the odd man out (or in my case I think I can say the red headed step child - lol) but they have been so kind that I don't get that feeling at all.

Although I haven't gotten to know the owner Nancy well yet, I already know how great she must be to have such a great group of gals who have been with her for so long and whose personalities blend so well.

Okay, now that the TT love fest portion of our program is over, guess what? I just found out I get to go to CHA this month!!! I am so excited. This will be my first time. I didn't know that class instructors were on Nancy's list to go, so I am oober excited - can't wait and my family is going to get sick of hearing about it! Okay, got to get out the door and off to work ... Have a great day all.

My Board at Timeless Treasures

Below are pictures (not ver good ones-sorry) of the layout I did for my board at Timeless treasures. I used some homemade flowers and some I Am Roses. I did this 2 page layout between 10pm and 1am and I'm so out of practice with large scale layouts because I love mini books so much. So, with that disclaimer, I'm still a bit pleased with how it came out. Thanks for looking.

Wendy

PS Sorry the pictures are so bad but I took them at 1:30am with artificial light and my desk was such a wreck I couldn't use my ott light.

Love Letters

Preview night at Timeless Treasures is upon us again, Tuesday night, January 10th, at 6:30. My class for February will be February 11 from 1-4. We will be doing this fab secret box that I learned from the YouTube community. I am calling it "LoveLetters." It will be a great gift for that someone special. As you can see from the photos, it looks like a tied up stack of old letters, but when you untie it and lift the top, you find a secret hidey hole which contains a little glass jar with a note inside for your honey (mine simply says "More than my own life...") and a tiny mini book with a pocket on the front holding a ticket good for "one kiss any time." This is a fun technique to learn and you can change it up in so many ways once you learn it - you are limited only by the sizes of envelopes you can get your hands on! The class will be $25; if you can't make it and would like to buy a kit, just message me @ wkuskee@cox.net. Thanks for looking and have a great week! Wendy

Pinewood Derby

Well today was the Boy Scout Pinewood Derby. And while our car is really cool to look at (at least I think) it wasn't as fast as it could have been - lol. We are already talking about what we will do differently for next year!
